One Ummah: Aiding Muslims In Need

(2012 Charity Iftaar Dinner for Syria with guest speaker Sheikh Musleh Khan

On August 9th 2012, join the Muslim Student Association at York University and Islamic Relief at York University for their third annual fundraiser iftaar.

Islamic Relief has been working with Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon for many months and it is now estimated that around 3,500 Syrians are currently seeking refuge in Lebanon; the actual numbers could be much higher.

Over 8,000 Syrian refugees are registered with the Jordanian government, but unofficial estimates are much higher, as around 20,000 refugees have contacted local NGOs requesting assistance.

Islamic Relief has been providing support to Syrians since May 2011, offering food and subsidies for rent, as well as blankets and hygiene kits.

Islamic Relief is continuing to support refugee communities on the Lebanon and Jordan borders and is ready to provide emergency aid within Syria as soon as access becomes possible.

Price: $15
Tickets will be sold everyday at the Bear Pitt from 8:00pm-10:00pm as well as after Jummu’ah on August 3.

You may also purchase your tickets online:
