Salaamu alaikum, as it came to my attention yesterday, KFC no longer sells halal chicken (They used to sell halal bone chicken), so the list should be updated as such, and I believe perhaps this message should be relayed in some way, maybe facebook? As by now people accustomed to it wouldn’t find the need to ask and likely wouldn’t.

In addition Falafel Hut’s halal menu is now expanded to all chicken meals.

JazakAllah Khair for your time :)

      Salaam,

Remember that al Popeyes are not Halal. At times owners change and you just need to check yourself. That goes with all franchises. The name Popeyes doesnt mean its Halal. So yeah check with every store yourself.

For processed meats i personally recommend Crecent for their quality and assurity. Crecent uses only hand-slaughtered meat by a Muslim in accordance with Islamic rites.

Crecent doesnt pay me a dime or a nickel but i can i say i trust them.

    Asalaamu alaikum,
What about putting Underground on the list? The meat they serve is halal.

Also Mangia Mangia, the owner owns both MM and a Villa Madina store and so buys halal meat from the same source as VM, but because they also serve alcohol they can’t get the halal certificate from ISNA or whoever. They do however have the ingredients sticker for their halal pepperoni on display if that means anything to anyone. The restaurant is kinda sketch (read: not clean) but food is cheap and good so, it’s your own call lol.

Michael’s (A restaurant in Atkinson) sometimes serves halal lol… depends on if he bought halal meat at the time or not, so worth a try to ask when you’re around, if not, their vegetarian lasagne is amazing!

Aramark (Cafeteria in Central Square and TEL Building) sells Halal Rotisserie Chicken, as well as Halal Burgers! The burgers are amazing but take a while to cook, well worth the wait!

Z Teca has shrimp Burritos which are expensive but amazing and filling.

All in all, I highly suggest folks check out the vegetarian options available around campus, some are simply amazing; and even going out to check if any restaurants or stores have partial halal menus too!

Salaams , I just wanted to let u guys know that I am a fourth yr student and ive been employed at popeyes since first yr and I am aware of the latest commotion that has been going on concerning Popeyes serving halal food .I wanted to let u guys know that we have all the certificates on the wall certifying that the chicken is halal. And the certificate comes from religious authorities …. U cannot just remove popeyes from the list…..We did change our supplier of chicken and if there is anything , I think the executives of the MSA should go and inquire at the restaurant..the owner would be pleased to answer any questions regarding this issue.Thank you.

This hotdog stand we refer to here in front of the student centre, is this the very one by the TTC bus stops? Would appreciate confirmation.
