The Muslim students at York University are having a difficult time with the limited amount of prayer space that is available to them. In many instances, Muslims literally have no place to pray. This is seen as a Human Rights Concern according to the report “Task Force on the Needs of Muslim Students” by the Canadian Federation of Students. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as asking the Interfaith Council for more space, because they are limited on resources and have to divide them between at least 12 different groups! This is a serious problem that needs to be taken to the highest authorities as possible in the York administration to make workable long term solutions.
