Womens’-Only Gym Time
The MSA is pleased to be supporting the YFS (York Federation of Students) in the new Womens’-Only Gym Time initiative! This is a wonderful opportunity, particularly for Muslim women who have religious considerations, to be able to enjoy and take advantage of the facilities in a comfortable environment. This program is currently in its pilot phase, so it is especially important to support it now so that it may remain and grow for future generations insha’Allah.
Program: Women’s Only Weight Training
Trained staff will monitor and supervise the space while offering health and exercise tips to participants. If turnouts are high andconsistent, women’s-only gym time will continue into the next semester and become a permanent feature of Yorks athletic and recreational programming.
Start Date: September 20
Weekly: Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Time: 4:30pm-6:30pm
Location: Studio 3 at Tait Mackenzie
Program: Women’s Only Aquatics
Discontinued for the Winter semester.
How to Register:
No formal registration is required, though you must have a valid athletic center shoe-tag (which can be purchased at Tait Mackenzie for $15) and fill out the appropriate forms and waivers to use the athletic facilities.
To celebrate the launch of the program, the York Federation of Students will be giving out free women’s-only gym time t-shirts to the first 100 participants!
For more information on the program, contact Vanessa Hunt, York Federation of Students President at [email protected] or by telephone at 416 736 2100 ext. 33627.
