Islamic Relief is first and foremost a charity that strives to alleviate the suffering, hunger, illiteracy and diseases worldwide without regard to faith, colour, race, gender or creed and to provide aid in a compassionate and dignified manner. It aims to provide rapid relief in the event of man-made or natural disasters, and has also established a series of development projects and initiatives in over 50 countries worldwide. As a chapter of Islamic Relief Canada, Islamic Relief at York University shares the same hope of alleviating hunger and suffering. Some of our initiatives for this year include our Orphan Sponsorship Program (OSP), the Jasmine of Hope Campaign (JOH), and the Water Campaign, to name a few.
